Laine Berina Ceramics was born from a simple, grounding desire: the need to get my hands dirty. In a world of digital noise, porcelain offered something real—a tangible, stable result and a creative process that felt vibrantly alive.

My studio is more than just a workspace; it’s a legacy. Located in my grandparents' former apartment, transforming these rooms into a creative sanctuary felt like a natural evolution—a way to breathe new life and stories into these historic walls. Today, I live directly above the studio, blurring the lines between home and art, as I pour my heart into every piece.

When I first entered the world of contemporary ceramics, I felt a quiet urge to challenge traditions. In Latvia, ceramics were often synonymous with heavy clay, earthy tones, and rustic textures. Introducing a pastel color palette was my small act of rebellion. I wanted to prove that ceramics could be bright, playful, and refreshingly light. What once seemed unconventional has now become my signature—an expression of freshness, joy, and modern elegance.

Every vessel is born through the casting technique, yet every single piece is meticulously finished by hand. My focus is on clarity, lightness, and an uncompromising attention to detail. I believe that objects should be an invitation to touch—smooth to the eye and pleasant to the hold.
